The 28 OD arises from the desire for a very fast, sporty and modern
sailing yacht which can be raced easily yet cruises well. The design
of the 28 OD is practical, comfortable and stylish. High stability,
rigidity and a generous sail area ensure excellent sail performance
of the 28 OD.
The mast of the 28 OD is 9/10 fractionally rigged with sweptback
spreaders and it combines structural advantages (no runners and
good lateral stability) with excellent aerodynamics properties.
Mainsail and 110% Jib can be easily carried up to 20 knots true
wind. This ensuring that ease of handling does not result in loss
of sail "power". The special keel shape has a low hydrodynamic
resistance and low ballast centre of gravity. This provides safe
and nimble sailing under all conditions.
The hull - keel attachment by means of a keel box system is very
strong, effective and reliable.
The rudder profile is designed for maximum effectiveness at every
speed. The relatively forward position of the rudder insures that,
even under large angles of heel, the rudder is always immerged this
allowing easy control of the boat even under difficult circumstances.
The interior accommodations include a forepeak bed and 2 sofa berths,
Galley with sink and room for cooker, Space for toilet, and 2 lockers
for sail clothing etc. Under the cockpit storage for sails etc.
